Softball, Softball, Softball

Dear Mother Nature,
As much as I enjoy a rainy day here and there, please make it stop raining and bring out the sunshine. You're really putting a damper on my outdoor activities and I have had WAY too many softball games canceled because of you.
Sincerely,
Bree

I LOVE the fact that Winter is over and I'm really looking forward to the warmer months. Softball has been in full swing for about a month now. Between coaching, playing, and teaching lessons I swear I spend more time at the ball field than anywhere else.... which I am completely okay with! I'm playing 4 nights a week (yes, FOUR) in different leagues and play tournaments on the weekends when I can. I can honestly say that I love softball as much now as I did when I was younger... Possibly more now that I'm older... and wiser and can appreciate the finer things in life :)
On top of playing 4 nights a week, and teaching some lessons on the side, I'm helping coach up at Alta, and I love it!!! The girls are great and so are the other coaches I work with!!! Go Hawks!!! The State Tournament was supposed to start this week, but the rain has put a damper on things.
I get up in the morning and go non-stop, a million miles a minute until it's time for bed... but I wouldn't have it any other way (for now :)

I played in a tournament last Saturday... 9 games and 12 hours later, I was exhausted, but it was the most fun I've had in a long time!!

About a month and a half ago, I got asked to play in a tournament in Mesquite. They needed one more girl so my friend, and college teammate, Lyndee came with. We had SO much fun! Lots of girl talk in the car and lots of fun at the ball field. We're excited to play again with the same team this weekend! (Weather permitting)

Hawaii

With everything I need to catch up on blogging about, Hawaii won the next post. Mostly because I am sick of this rainy/cold weather and REALLY wish I could be back there right now.
So... back in January I was talking with my parents about needing to get away and take a vacation. They reminded me that they were going to Hawaii in March with BYU's softball team (My dad is a coach there for those of you who didn't know) and told me if I wanted to go, I'd only have to pay for a plane ticket and could stay with my parents in the hotel. Sooo...... I booked it the next day!!
We flew out on a Tuesday, and were supposed to stay until the following Tuesday night. Long story short, the flight home was overbooked so Barbi and I volunteered to stay back... They put us up in a hotel, paid for food, AND gave us a $400 travel voucher.. who WOULDN'T want to stay in Hawaii an extra day!! This post is going to be MASSIVE if I give a play by play of the trip, so I'm going to sum it up and add some pictures.

This was the view from our hotel..BEAUTIFUL

We spent a lot of time at the ballfield... What more could a girl ask for than sunshine in Hawaii AND a ballfield?!!!
Spent a lot of timing walking around and completely goofing off. The flip-flop shop!!We went with the team to the Northshore... We stopped at the Temple

And to get a picture with China Man's hat...Went to Matsumoto's for shave ice... (I've been craving it ever since... AMAZING!!!)Had a Hawaiian BBQ at the beach!!Went to the PCC.... awesome!!!Pearl Harbor was incredible!!! I learned a lot while I was there and it was definitely a humbling experience. My Mom, Barbi, and I all stayed a couple extra days... So we went on a snorkling/whale watching excursion... Only saw 1 whale, but saw lots of dolphins and got to snorkle with lots of fish and some turtles! We layed out by the pool and the beach every single day! What I wouldn't give to be back there right now!

I'm pretty sure between me and my dad, we ate more than our fair share of pineapple. Delicious!

Aloha Hawaii.... Can't wait until we see each other again!!!!!

I'm Alive... Honest

I thought I was ready to start blogging again.... turns out, I wasn't. The title to my blog "Life as Bree Knows It"... Well, for a minute there I wasn't sure what I "knew," where I was going, or what I was thinking. (Ha) I do however think I'm ready now. We'll see how well it goes this time... I have a LOT to blog about from these past few months and will eventually get it all posted. Here are a few things I'm super excited to post about and promise to get them up soon!!

  • What I've learned about life, change, attitude, growing up, letting go, moving on, finding/creating myself, and what a TRUE best friend really is. :)

  • Girls trip to California with my bestie!!!

  • Dodgeball

  • Coaching softball

  • Playing softball

  • Vacation with the parentals to Hawaii (hands down best vacation EVER)

  • Location change
So I don't overwhelm myself, I'm starting with baby steps and leaving it at that today. I've been on a quote kick lately, so I'm going to try and end every blog entry with some sort of quote...
"You've got to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you've got, and remember what you had. Always forgive, but never forget. Learn from mistakes, but never regret."

Life as Bree Knows It

I needed a fresh start on my blog... So here it is!

A lot has happened in the past few months. Some good...some not. My life has changed drastically, but it's for the better. Here are just a few thoughts running through my head right now (along with the thought that I really should be getting some work done! haha)

* I have cried a lot of tears, but have also had a lot of laughs. Both make me feel better in the end, but I've decided I would prefer to laugh.

*I have the BEST family and friends in the whole world who love me regardless and who are willing to pretty much give me the shirts off their backs (or their basement to live in).

*There are also some people in my life that have been there for me, treated me like family, and helped me through some things that I may not have been able to get through by myself. Whether they think they've done anything or not. (you know who you are ;)

*My mom has this quote she always says... "Do ONE thing every day that makes you happy." I've been doing that... and it works! Along with "Treat others the way you want to be treated."

*I believe everything happens for a reason. That people walk into your life at certain times for a reason. I also believe in FATE... 110%!!!

That about sums it up for now. Happy Monday everyone!!
